About

With over 300 RVSP's, the inaugural Womayn of the Global Majority Summit will convene self-identifying Womayn of the Global Majority, people who identify as gender non-conforming and co-conspirators.  The summit is space created to acknowledge the differences within our communities while defining and highlighting our intersections. The day will consist of multidisciplinary and intergenerational panels and workshops, where attendees will build community, celebrate each other, share stories, heal together, and gain insight into how to foster racial equity within their respective communities and networks.

The term "Womayn" is used in place of "Self-Identifying Women". This is a inclusive term for people that identify as gender non-conforming and/or non-binary individuals. The term “Womayn of the Global Majority” is used to replace the race-centric term "Womayn of Color". It is a declaration of global solidarity, because there are globally more people from non-Eurocentric ancestry. The term Womayn of the Global Majority is a commitment to work in collaboration with other self-identifying women that have been “minoritized” by systemic oppression. "People of the Global Majority" is a contemporary term that acknowledges both ethnic identity and political destination.

The Summit will be hosted at the Austin Community College (ACC) Eastview campus, on Nov. 11, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The summit is completely FREE for all attendees with a light breakfast & lunch INCLUDED to the first 200 registered summit attendees.
